Char Dham Yatra from Assam

The Char Dham Yatra is a revered pilgrimage in Hinduism that encompasses four sacred sites in Uttarakhand, India. Although Assam is located in the northeastern part of India, it is possible to embark on this spiritual journey from there. For the Char Dham Yatra from Assam, the journey typically begins with a flight or train journey from Assam to Delhi. From Delhi, pilgrims can take a domestic flight to Dehradun, the capital city of Uttarakhand. Alternatively, they can opt for a train or road trip to reach Dehradun.

Once in Dehradun, pilgrims proceed towards the starting point of the Char Dham Yatra, usually Yamunotri. Yamunotri is dedicated to the goddess Yamuna and is renowned for its natural beauty and hot springs. Finally, the pilgrimage concludes at Badrinath, where the Badrinath Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu is situated. This temple is considered one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in Hinduism. After completing the darshan (worship) at all four temples, pilgrims return to Assam, having concluded their Char Dham Yatra. It is advisable to plan the journey during the summer months, as Uttarakhand experiences severe winters with heavy snowfall, rendering the sites inaccessible during that time. Undertaking the Char Dham Yatra from Assam provides devotees with an opportunity to seek divine blessings, cleanse their souls, and experience spiritual growth in the presence of these revered deities.
